FIRE AND RESCUE

Zistos makes portable video systems that serve the needs of firefighters and the technical search specialists alike.

Our FIRE EXTENSION SYSTEMS are used to efficiently search for signs of smoke and heat in ceiling voids and without the need for ladders. The self illuminating camera on a telescoping pole reaches above ceiling tiles and sends the video to a body worn monitor to help determine the fire extension and locate the source in the most expedient and safe manner possible. Thermal imaging cameras are available to allow the system to detect hot spots (such as overheated electrical devices) that can be the source of smoke and potential fire.

Zistos’ RESCUE SYSTEMS have become the standard in US&R technical search to locate and extricate victims trapped within the rubble and debris following a structure collapse. A color camera on an articulating pole allows the search specialist to systematically scan a void space in search of victims. A specially designed listening device provides audio clues to hear the faint sounds of victims. Zistos’ revolutionary Dual Mode Thermal Camera head detects sources of heat from victims that may be covered in dust and otherwise go unnoticed. Switching over from thermal to high resolution video to verify the source of heat is instantaneous and does not require removal or repositioning of the pole. Many other modular accessories are available to enhance the overall capability of these inherently versatile systems.

MODULAR BY DESIGN
The entire Zistos line is designed to be modular for maximum flexibility and adaptability. All cameras, pole extensions, video displays and accessories are completely interchangeable. Any system can be expanded at any time.

FIRE EXTENSION
The Fire Extension System provides boundary identification capability through a high resolution, low light sensitive, monochrome camera affixed to a telescoping pole to determine the extension of fire smoke from difficult or impossible to reach areas (such as ceiling voids) without the initial need for ladders. This system is upgradeable at any time through the purchase of a thermal camera head to the deluxe version below.

The Fire Extension System Deluxe provides additional capability by helping also identify the seat of the fire by means of a thermal imaging camera head. A colorized mapping of the thermal image affords quick assessment of hot spots that are either fire or potential origins of fire.

Zistos’ Rescue System is optimized to locate victims in the shortest amount of time—all while maintaining the safety of the rescue team. The extremely portable and modular design allows the kit to be easily hand-carried over the most challenging terrain and be instantly configured on-site to adapt to any rescue scenario. This inherent adaptability through modular design saves time and, ultimately, lives.

Options
THERMAL CAMERA    
The Dual Mode Thermal Camera is Zistos’ most capable camera for locating trapped victims in many types of rescue scenarios. The rugged aluminum enclosure is waterproof and measures only 1.9” in diameter, allowing access through a 2” hole.

The Dual Mode Thermal Camera combines two types of technology, thermal imaging and low light sensitive CCD, into one camera making an extremely powerful and versatile camera for rescue missions. The thermal imaging technology, which can detect heat signatures through smoke, fog and tear gas, can quickly locate human activity. The low light sensitive, high resolution BW CCD camera with infrared illumination can then provide much more detail to better assess the situation. The operator can easily and instantly toggle between the two modes using the illumination control on the WalkAboutT® monitor.

VIDEOSCOPE, FIBERSCOPE & BORESCOPE KITS
Videoscopes, Fiberscopes and Borescopes allow access into areas through much smaller openings that the standard cameras and are popular complements to any system.

Videoscopes, which offer 4-way articulation, provide a much better image than fiberscopes and borescopes, almost always making the best choice. Fiberscopes, which offer either 2-way or 4-way articulation, have the advantage of being usable without a monitor, by viewing the image directly through the eyepiece. Borescopes, which do not articulate, provide either right angle or straight views, making them the best choice for certain situations.

All Videoscope, Fiberscope, and Borescope Kits are compatible with the WalkAbout® II monitor. All kits include a camera cable, battery powered light source, guide tube and rugged carry case. Fiberscope and Borescope Kits also include a video camera and camera lens adapter. All kits are available with either a color or B&W camera.
