Thermal and IR Imaging in One Camera
Zistos dual mode thermal cameras carry thermal and black and white IR imaging in one camera head. What each view shows, and which kits carry it.
Direct answer
Thermal and IR both work in the dark, but each misses what the other sees. Zistos dual mode thermal cameras carry both in one camera head: thermal imaging and black and white IR imaging, on one pole.
Thermal: is something warm there?
- Heat signatures in total darkness
- Residual heat on surfaces recently touched or disturbed
- No light emitted from the camera head
*What it misses:* detail. Faces, text and small objects don't resolve, and contrast drops in hot spaces like a summer attic.
Black and white IR: what exactly is there?
- Hands, objects, wiring, gaps and room layout
- Clear identification of what's in view
*What it misses:* heat. A still subject among boxes or insulation can blend in.
Dual mode: both answers, one camera
One camera head carries both views. Views switch on the tablet, one at a time, not blended. There's no second camera to fit or carry.
